Hospitality Start-Up

This case study demonstrates OpsWiz's ability to work collaboratively with other consultants, supporting a new business in the hospitality sector.

Problem:

  • Whilst the entrepreneur was happy to seize the opportunity to branch out into a new sector, they understood they lacked the relevant operational expertise.

  • The entrprenuer purchased the business without any existing operational processes.

  • The volume of work involved in setting up was overwhelming, and they had an ambition to run thier first event within the first three months of ownership.

Solution:

  • Collaboration project; multiple business specialists with expertise covering all aspects of starting a business. OpsWiz is an operations specialist.

  • Analysis of the end-to-end business identified the gaps in the operational process.

  • OpsWiz defined and developed end-to-end business processes, procedures, and templates that enabled standard practice whilst ensuring compliance in this heavily regulated industry.

  • Configuration of new CRM software systems, including automation of process flows.

  • Workshops with the client to challenge the thinking around product pricing, payment, and terms of business; with appropriate clauses added to quotations and contracts.

Benefit:

  • The collaborative approach ensured that the set-up of the business, end to end, was managed cohesively.

  • The creation of robust process and procedure documents and related templates enabled the entrepreneur to concentrate on other aspects of the start-up, such as making their first sale.

  • Systems and automation gave confidence that support staff would be working consistently, efficiently and effectively, including reminders to action tasks promptly.

  • Our advice on the event contract clauses minimized risk and avoided client disputes, maintaining a positive reputation in the industry.

Outcome:

As a result of our work, the business was able to start up with confidence, running its first event within eight weeks of the initial purchase.
